THE FIRST SERIAL NUMBERS ARE BACK: MANY YEARS LATER, CANTINE NATALE VERGA AND ACEITIFICIO BALSAMICO DEL DUCA RECONFIRM THEIR CONFIDENCE IN MAKRO - May 2017

The years go by, but Makro continues not just to satisfy the needs and necessities of old and new customers, but to do so ever better. In this context, the sale of machine number 571 is particularly significant. The order in fact comes from Makro's very first customer, owner of serial number 1, who, after many years and despite some inevitable technical problems with the first machine, has once again chosen a Makro labeller, the MAK 5 - 24P Ug2 L3 + Ua3 L3 CO2 with 3 self-adhesive groups and the Follower CO2. Cantine Natale Verga operates in the winemaking sector at Cermenate in the province of Como.

And it is not the only company to reconfirm its confidence in Makro. The owner of serial number 2, Acetificio Balsamica del Duca owned by the Grosoli family and based in Spilamberto in the province of Modena, has also purchased a second MAK 1 6P Ua3 L3 CO1 labeller with serial number 508, already installed and in production.

SPECIAL LABELLERS FOR HIGH PRODUCTION VOLUMES AND TAX SEAL APPLICATION IN THE BEVERAGES SECTOR: FROM THAILAND, NEW CONFIRMATION FOR MAKRO INNOVATION - May 2017

Through Clearpack Group Singapore, a new Makro collaborator for the important south-east Asian market, Makro has sold and already installed two new labellers on the production premises of an important distillery in Thailand. The machines are two MAK 4/2 - 24P/14P Ug3 L3 Ug1 “U” CE labellers with three glue groups and application of a "U" tax seal for high production speeds of around 21,000 b/h. These machines provide the perfect response to a strictly Thai characteristic, namely high-speed application of a very narrow tax seal on bottles of alcoholic drinks. Since installation, the first production tests on the machines have already given positive results, confirming Makro's capacity for innovation and development, including in high-speed tax seal application.

UKRAINE AND NEW CONFIRMATION FOR MAKRO - May 2017

Further confirmation of the reliability of Makro labellers has come from Ukraine through Makro agent IBP. A MAK 3 - 12P Ua5 L5 + Ug1”U” CO1 machine with “U” tax seal application was sold to Alcool Tradition for installation in June.

DESTILERIAS MG S.A. HAS AGAIN CHOSEN MAKRO LABELLING TECHNOLOGY FOR BEICA BARCELO, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MACHINES TO FOUR - April 2017

The Spanish Destilerias MG S.A. group, one of the world's leading producers of rum, spirits and liqueurs, has once again turned to Makro Labelling to renew their production machine inventory. After the first supply of two machines for the factories in Spain and Santo Domingo, confirmation has come in 2017 with purchase of a further two machines for the production lines at the Beica Barcelo distillery in Santo Domingo.

Top level technical performance, a technical and after-sales service available locally and the guarantee of remote assistance were the features that convinced the Spanish group to turn once again to the technology of Makro Labelling's labelling systems.

Through FTM and its owner, engineer Carlos Tramontini, who represents and sells Makro Labelling labellers for the spirits and liqueurs market in part of Central America and the Caribbean area, Beica Barcelo will install two MAK 02 - 6P Ua3 L3 CE labellers with three self-adhesive groups, plus "L" tax seal application, bringing to a total of four the number of machines installed in the Destilerias MG S.A. group's production lines.

FLEXIBILITY AND TECHNOLOGY AT THE CUSTOMER'S SIDE - MAKRO LABELLING IN TUNISIA FOR THE GLOBAL SYMPOSIUM - 3 February 2017

Flexibility and technology at the customer's side - this was the theme of the 3rd symposium edition organised by Makro Labelling's Maghreb agent on 3 February in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia. As in previous editions, the symposium was attended by all suppliers, from Italy and elsewhere, of a complete bottling, labelling and product storage line, with the common objective of providing existing and potential customers with a global view of the line.

Makro Labelling was represented by Massimo Manzotti and Silvia Ghizzi, after-sales assistant, who first introduced the company's history, then focussed attention on the innovative potential, adaptability and flexibility of Makro's range of labellers, presenting in particular the Roll Feed modular group and the Follower. The flexible modular Roll Feed group works principally with PET bottles and wrap-round plastic labels on reels, the perfect answer to the requirements of the Maghreb market needing technology and production lines for soft drinks and water. The Follower (a Makro patent) is, on the other hand, an external bottle-guide module mounted on the labeller, enabling the labels to be applied in precise positions with respect to a reference on the bottle.

As in the past, the event was organised in collaboration with the Tunisian Office du Thermalisme.

COSMINT CHOOSES A MAK 02 - 8P Ua4 L4 CO1, CUSTOMISED FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH A TOP LABELLING APPLICATION - July 2016

Cosmint, one of Italy's largest contract packagers in the personal care sector, based in the province of Como, recently chose a Makro labeller to satisfy a very specific requirement presented by the P&G group: the application of special top labels on PANTENE line body cream containers.

The labeller chosen for the purpose was a MAK 02 - 8P Ua4 L4 CO1 for applying wrap-around and semi-wrap-around front and back labels to cylindrical containers. The machine was adapted for the very first time to apply adhesive labels to the tops of containers. The solution was developed jointly by Makro Labelling's design and R&D departments, and features sophisticated electronics and the patented Follower alignment system. This system detects a mark on the cap, consisting of a few millimetres of raised plastic in different colours (in the white and black ranges). The machine guarantees perfect packaging downstream from the labelling process.

MAKRO LABELLING CONQUERS SOUTH AFRICA WITH A MAK 5 - 32P UA6 L3 CO4 CE FOR THE RTD SECTOR - July 2016

A Makro Labelling MAK 5 - 32P UA6 L3 CO4 CE self-adhesive labeller has recently been sold and installed in South Africa through Columbit, Makro Labelling's regional agent. The machine is intended to renew and modernise an existing RTD line (ready to drink mixes of soft and alcoholic beverages). The aim is to make the production process faster and more flexible and to allow more rapid format changes.

This particular machine, a MAK 5 - 32P UA6 L3 CO4 CE, is equipped with AHS2 units that run at 135/140 metres/minute in non-stop mode. It also features an electronic cam and a Follower optical alignment system with four photocells. This is used to align the seals on standard 275 and 330 ml bottles: labels, especially transparent ones, are applied between the two seals to avoid them forming air bubbles at the ridges. In the case of 750 ml and 1 l vodka bottles, the Follower system is used to align the logos present on the bottle itself.

The machine has already completed all necessary trials and is now fully operational and running at a speed of 37,000 b/h.

THE L’ORÉAL GROUP CHOOSES MAKRO LABELLING AGAIN - July 2016

The L’Oréal Group has confirmed its faith in Makro Labelling by purchasing another new labeller, a MAK 2 - 12P Ua2 L2 CO1, for its mascara production line. This application is particularly challenging because of the slightly spherical surface of the container, but perfect functioning is guaranteed by the latest label application system combined with a dedicated tensioning system specially designed by Makro Labelling for this type of irregularly shaped packaging. The new self-adhesive labelling system also integrates a laser printer for printing barcodes on the sides of the containers and a non-stop label applicator capable of producing up to 8,000 pieces/hour.
